In North America, this is the first day of autumn, also known as fall. Fall often means the leaves are changing from deep, verdant greens to vermillions, reds, and tawny hues.
However, depending on where you are, it doesn’t happen everywhere at the same time.
Certain areas of the USA, specifically the colder areas, will see their fall foliage peak at this end of this month. Areas further south, such as Texas, most of Georgia, and Louisiana, won’t see a fall foliage peak until November.
